Skilled professional volunteer

For professionals who want to give us their skill rather than their Saturdays, and who are not looking to join the board. You do the work in your area of expertise, on your own schedule, mostly remotely.

Time: flexible, defined by the project
Where: mostly remote
Horse experience: not needed
After you apply: we contact you within a week

Where we need help

Pick the area that matches what you do. If your skill is not listed and you think it applies, tell us anyway.

Legal

501(c)(3) formation, bylaws and state charitable registration; liability waivers and participant release agreements; volunteer and employment policy; contracts, leases, vendor agreements and partner MOUs; trademark and brand protection; insurance review.

Financial

Chart of accounts and bookkeeping setup; monthly reconciliation and financial reporting; budget building and cash flow forecasting; Form 990 preparation and annual filings; internal controls and fiscal policy; audit or review preparation.

Structure and operations

Policy and procedure documentation; risk management and safety protocols; volunteer handbook, onboarding and background check process; systems and technology: CRM, donations, scheduling, website; data and reporting: how we measure whether the programs work.

Administration

Grant research and grant writing; donor database management and gift acknowledgment; scheduling, correspondence and meeting support; communications: newsletters, social media, press; photography and video from program sessions.

Time commitment

Flexible and defined by the project. Some engagements are a single deliverable, like drafting a waiver. Others are ongoing, like monthly bookkeeping. Remote or on site. Tell us what you can give and we will match you to something that fits.

Requirements

  • Current license or certification where the work requires one

  • Professional liability coverage where appropriate

  • Willing to sign a volunteer agreement and confidentiality agreement

  • No horse experience needed

After you apply

We contact you within a week to talk through what you do, what you have time for, and what we actually need. If we do not have a good match for your skill right now, we will tell you honestly and keep you on file rather than waste your time.
